Alongside search and navigation options, visual sorting plays a significant role in product findability. Hardly anyone will scroll multi page category to its very end to check if there is anything worth a look. When customers start browsing categories in an online store, they tend to click the results they see at the top, because it is where the best offers and the most popular products are usually displayed. Now you will be able to focus customer attention on the groups of products that substantially contribute to the revenue. All the changes you apply to the order of the products are displayed in your store immediately without the need to save the results.
The way you choose to display what you have got to offer on your online store affects the way your customers make their choice. By organizing your product feed specifically you can highlight the goods that deserve more recognition and present your product range in the most favorable and profitable way. Grid configuration of Visual Sorting extension is user-friendly and makes it possible to tune every page according to your priorities and marketing goals.
You get to decide which items your customers get to see first once they enter the category. You can promote the items that have already gained your customers’ trust. Showcase bestsellers, most wanted, discounted or any products of your choice on the top of the category page by sorting them in the preferable order. To relocate the product, you can just move it manually to another spot.
Once the extension is installed, you can see and manage the product placement for every category. Visual Sorting extension displays products with pics and prices in grids by pages as in the store, making it easier to choose what you want to edit and seeing the overall preview for the changes made. There are Grid Settings at System > Configuration > Neklo > Product Position, where you can choose the composition for Category pages.
Important notice: before introducing any change to the positions of your products, take your time and resave every category. This will attach every existing product to its place at that moment. After that, you will be able to change positions. If you leave the categories as they are, the product order might get mixed up and make your sorting harder.
You can enter the comfortable number of product on a single in the backend Grid. This can be any number you are comfortable to work with, depending on how many changes you want to make, how many products the category contains, and what your display dimensions are. Adjusting the number of products according to these parameters can make your sorting work fast and productive. Also, your frontend stays untouched: no matter how you alter the Grid in the extension settings, it doesn’t interfere with the initial design of the store.
There is an additional setting to make your Grid fit your display and workflow, that allows you to separate your products in a few columns for the Categories on the backend.
Your store and its contents can be beautiful and organized not only in the front but also in the back. The more vivid and clean the display is, the easier it is to detect minor hiccups, figure out misplaced or random products.
Note that you can prepare the Category Grid on the backend to sorting by cleaning it from products that are no longer available. To disable Out of Stock products, you should head to System > Configuration > Catalog > Inventory. If the unavailable products are displayed, they can be also relocated in the Grid.
This mode shows everything you have included in the category, available after scrolling the page down. It becomes convenient when you are sorting out multiple products all around the category and want to see the whole picture, from the first to the last position.
With Pages, all your products get assigned to their page. Pagination makes customer search easier because everything that is worth seeing is usually located on the first page. You can use pagination as a marker for products with different popularity, or most appropriate prices, or sort them by most popular collection - whatever you suppose your customers would enjoy more.
You know your customers best: what is their favorite item, preferable price range and most popular configuration like color or size. Therefore, you can offer them tempting products on the most viewed place at your store to give them the right impression of the place they would like to buy from. The first row of the product category. You also know what your customers turn to less frequently, and you can place these items farther from the first sight.
In Visual Product Sorting extension, your product becomes movable elements on the clipboard: it is enough to press any product and pull in the suitable direction, and then release it at its new place.
Page building is a never-ending process that is strongly related to seasonal changes. Therefore, your layout is slightly different throughout the time. In order to preserve the page pattern you created and not forget about some product, there are three moving tools.
At every product card, there are a few multi-purpose arrows that are intended to move the product one position to the left or to the right. If you want to move the product much farther than on one step, you can use the double arrows. No matter how many products you have on one page, the product will be sent to the last or to the first position, depending on the direction of the arrow, if it is not already taken by a fixed product.
Maintain the product order you need by pinning any product to its place on the page. You can make sure that the items that are out of stock won’t pop up as the first ones or new arrivals won’t be at the very last page of the product list. This position will remain fixed, no matter how you change the order for other products and how many new items you may add afterwards.
This feature is intended for taking your products from one page and moving it to another. The button opens a window where you specify the page you want to send the product to. The transferred product will appear on the first available position, of the very first place on the page is taken by a pinned product.
With Visual Sorting extension, you can improve customer experience and use product order as a sales booster by offering the range you have got on display in an efficient way. The extension helps you figure out new arrivals: by default, all newly added products will be displayed at the top of the category, starting from the first page. Your new collections will always take the most efficient selling positions, but if you are willing to rearrange them, every product is still fully movable.
